Laser Smoking Cessation Program – Quit Smoking for Good

by | Aug 9, 2021

Many people are looking for ways to quit smoking for good and start a new life free from their addiction to cigarettes. However, quitting smoking can be a difficult task for some. Previous attempts to quit smoking have failed and we begin to feel powerless. Our mind starts to play tricks on us, and we get stuck in a loop of negative thoughts that are not productive.

In order to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we need optimism and a plan. We need to believe that quitting is the right decision, and that there will be a bright future for us if we do it. When you are trying to quit smoking, it is important to have a program that includes the tools and support you need to see you through to quit smoking for good.

Why you should quit smoking now

Smoking is a serious health issue. It’s been proven that smoking can cause cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, oral cancer, emphysema, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The list of side effects goes on and on. Smoking is one of the leading causes of preventable death in the United States.

A person’s smoking habit can have a huge impact on their health. Cigarette smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals, 69 of which are known carcinogens. Tobacco use increases the risk of lung cancer by about 20 times compared to nonsmokers. There’s no question it’s an unhealthy habit. It smells terrible, it costs money, it is an addiction, and causes avoidable and serious health problems in the future.

These are just some of the chemicals contained in cigarettes:

• Nicotine (the addictive drug that produces the effects in the brain that people are looking for)
• Hydrogen cyanide
• Formaldehyde
• Lead
• Arsenic
• Ammonia
• Radioactive elements, such as polonium-210 (see below)
• Benzene
• Carbon monoxide
• Tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs)
• Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)

The harmful effects of smoking are many for the smoker but it also harms those in close proximity to the smoker, our spouses, children, and pets, not to mention it often robs friends and loved ones of a smoker’s presence due to poor health and even early death.

Nicotine & The Brain: A toxic relationship

Nicotine is a toxic substance that’s found in cigarettes, cigars, and other tobacco products.

Nicotine is an addictive stimulant that stimulates the brain’s reward system by releasing dopamine. It also helps regulate blood pressure, breathing, and heart rate. The nicotine receptors are located in the brain’s pleasure center and they are responsible for making smokers feel good when they smoke.

The dopamine release from smoking nicotine causes addiction because it makes you crave more of the drug whenever you stop smoking it for a period of time. Nicotine withdrawal symptoms include irritability, anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating on tasks and craving for cigarettes.

Is quitting easier said than done?

Quitting smoking is one of the best decisions you can make for your health and longevity. We have all heard the stories of someone who one day quit “cold turkey” and never smoked again. Good for them! They are not you. It’s okay that you tried and failed. It’s okay that it has been harder for you. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. If it was as easy as just a desire to quit there would be a whole lot less cigarette smokers in the world.

Laser Smoking Cessation program – How it works

Our Laser Therapy program works by helping to relieve you of the withdrawal symptoms and nicotine cravings that occur when you quit smoking. The program is safe and drug-free. It does not matter if you have smoked for 1 year, 10 years or 30 years, it can help you achieve your goal of quitting smoking for good.

Similar to acupuncture a soft laser beam is used to target specific points of your body to stimulate your body’s own natural production of endorphins. When you quit smoking the absence of nicotine causes a sudden drop in your endorphin levels that leads to the withdrawal symptoms and cravings that make quitting smoking so hard.

Imagine quitting smoking without feeling irritable, depressed, and anxious. Imagine it feeling good right from the start. Imagine being able to ignore the temptation to smoke another cigarette because you feel great without it. All the fear about what will happen if you quit smoking removed from the equation.

The laser therapy treatment takes place over 2 consecutive days. On the first day you’ll have a consultation session with Dr. Will and your first 1-hour laser treatment. On the second day, you’ll check-in with Dr. Will to review how you are feeling, asses your progress and receive your 2nd laser treatment.

In addition to laser therapy treatment our smoking cessation program also provides one-on-one support and guidance to help with the emotional, physical, and psychological aspects of no longer being a smoker. We will be here for you to keep you on the path to the finish line. Your success is our success.

The benefits of quitting smoking

Quitting smoking has benefits for both the body and the mind.

The benefits of quitting smoking are clear; it reduces the chance of heart disease and cancer, it improves mental health, and your skin will also look better. Quitting smoking may not be easy, but it is worth it.

20 Minutes after stopping smoking the blood pressure and pulse return to normal.
8 Hours later nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in the blood have halved, while oxygen levels in the blood return to normal.
24 Hours later carbon monoxide has been eliminated form the body and lungs start to clear out the debris.
48 Hours later no nicotine is left in the body and the senses of taste and smell improve.
