Braincore Neurofeedback for Anxiety: Drug-free Therapy

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health disorders in the United States. There are many types of anxiety disorders, but the most common one is Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Neurofeedback for anxiety is a therapeutic method that helps people with anxiety train their brain waves to produce a more relaxed state of mind and overcome the symptoms of anxiety.
The basic principle of neurofeedback therapy for anxiety is the same as any other type of cognitive behavioral therapy. What sets it apart though, is the way it achieves the desired results and the ease with which patients can adapt and benefit from the process.
What is Anxiety and How it Affects People?
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is characterized by persistent feelings of worry and physical symptoms such as muscle tension, sweating, shortness of breath or racing heartbeat that last over six months without any physical cause. If you have ever had an anxiety or panic attack you know not only how unpleasant and scary it is but how disheartening the cycle can be.
Anxiety disorders are not just about being nervous. They are about being overly anxious or stressed in situations that should not be stressful at all. When you have an anxiety disorder even activities you love can become triggers. It can be hard to tell if you have an anxiety disorder because the symptoms are similar to other things such as depression and stress.
If you are living with an anxiety disorder you know just how much it affects every aspect of your life from work to school to relationships. It prevents you from enjoying time with family and friends, and even when you are not experiencing an anxiety attack you begin to worry about when it will happen next. Self-isolation becomes common because even the people you depend upon don’t seem to understand this thing they can’t see and you may start to be afraid of embarrassment, or simply don’t want to have to explain to others what you are going through.
Traditional Treatment for Anxiety Management
The two most common treatments for anxiety disorders are anti-anxiety medication and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Anti-anxiety medication such as benzodiazepines, beta-blockers, and antidepressants are often prescribed. Although anti-anxiety medications can be effective in quickly reducing symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and short-term alleviation of acute stress symptoms, they work by altering chemical levels in your brain and are effective only as long as you continue taking the prescription. These types of pharmaceuticals come with side effects such as insomnia, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, constipation, and sexual dysfunction.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is a form of psychotherapy that helps to deal with the symptoms and problems associated with anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, and social phobias. It concentrates on changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help you stop worrying excessively and decrease anxiety levels.
Alongside these two treatments, patients also can learn other skills which include meditation, deep breathing exercises and progressive muscle relaxation techniques to help reduce their level of anxiety.
What is Braincore Neurofeedback Therapy for Anxiety?
Braincore Neurofeedback Therapy trains your brain to work better by giving you feedback about what is happening inside your brain. In general, the goal of this therapy is to teach you how to control anxiety-related symptoms without medication or other treatments.
Neurofeedback therapy has been shown in many studies to significantly reduce anxiety and depression symptoms. The use of Neurofeedback therapy is becoming more widespread for anxiety management because it has shown to be more effective than traditional methods of treatment. The most common type of neurofeedback therapy is called EEG biofeedback, which is accomplished by using an electroencephalography (EEG) machine to monitor and measure the person’s own brainwaves.
Braincore Therapy is a non-invasive and effective treatment to manage anxiety. It is a proprietary system (QEEG) of biofeedback therapy which uses computer software to monitor the brain activity and sends back different kinds of feedback in the form of a puzzle, game or movie. It does this by using a sensor to read brain waves and send them to a computer. The computer program then checks for any changes in the brain waves and learns the user’s unique patterns. It then sends that information back to the user which is called a “feedback loop.”
This feedback loop, combined with rewards on a computer screen, helps change your brainwaves. This helps people with anxiety learn new ways of responding to various stimuli in their environment. It has also been found to benefit people who have problems with stress, sleep, attention, behavioral regulation, and other neurological disorders.
Braincore Therapy helps reduce the severity of your symptoms and improve your day-to-day life and can be used in combination with other treatments or therapies for your anxiety disorder.
Why I Believe in Braincore Neurofeedback Therapy
Having previously suffered from an anxiety and panic disorder myself, this is a near and dear subject to me. I know what it is like to suffer thru an anxiety or panic attack. It is one of the worst feelings I have ever experienced. Chest tightness and pain, heavy breathing and feeling like you’re dying is the best way to describe it. However, after undergoing neurofeedback treatment myself I no longer have to endure those attacks like I once did. Helping others find that same peace and freedom is very important to me.
