Traditional Treatment for Anxiety Management


The two most common treatments for anxiety disorders are anti-anxiety medication and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Anti-anxiety medication such as benzodiazepines, beta-blockers, and antidepressants are often prescribed. Although anti-anxiety medications can be effective in quickly reducing symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and short-term alleviation of acute stress symptoms, they work by altering chemical levels in your brain and are effective only as long as you continue taking the prescription. These types of pharmaceuticals come with side effects such as insomnia, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, constipation, and sexual dysfunction.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is a form of psychotherapy that helps to deal with the symptoms and problems associated with anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, and social phobias. It concentrates on changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help you stop worrying excessively and decrease anxiety levels.

Alongside these two treatments, patients also can learn other skills which include meditation, deep breathing exercises and progressive muscle relaxation techniques to help reduce their level of anxiety.


What is Braincore Neurofeedback Therapy for Anxiety?


Braincore Neurofeedback Therapy trains your brain to work better by giving you feedback about what is happening inside your brain. In general, the goal of this therapy is to teach you how to control anxiety-related symptoms without medication or other treatments.
Neurofeedback therapy has been shown in many studies to significantly reduce anxiety and depression symptoms. It then sends that information back to the user which is called a “feedback loop.”

This feedback loop, combined with rewards on a computer screen, helps change your brainwaves. This helps people with anxiety learn new ways of responding to various stimuli in their environment. It has also been found to benefit people who have problems with stress, sleep, attention, behavioral regulation, and other neurological disorders.
